ATLS® Switzerland is a subgroup of the Swiss Society of Surgeons (Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Chirurgie).
 
We are a non-profit organization promoting and organizing the ATLS courses in Switzerland in accordance with the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons (ACS-COT) guidelines.
 
In 1998, Switzerland entered as the 30th country the international ATLS community. Since then, ATLS activities in Switzerland have steadily developed. More on the ATLS history here...
 
ATLS® Switzerland is composed of four member-groups:
 
ATLS Core Faculty:
represents the steering committee and is composed of the National Program Director (President), Past President, President Elect, Vice President, 5 Regional Directors, 5 Regional Codirectors, National Coordinator, National Co-Coordinator, National Educator as well as the Administrative Secretary of the Swiss Society of Surgery.
 
ATLS Faculty:
The instructors of the Student Courses, Instructor Courses and Refresher Courses represent the ATLS Faculty.
 
ATLS Coordinators:
are in charge of the local organization (preparation, implementation and evaluation) of all courses.
 
ATLS Family:
all successful participants of an ATLS Student Course join the ATLS Family.

Training sites

The ATLS Courses are organized by five regional training sites: Basel, Bern, Genève, Lausanne, Lugano, Zürich. Each site is related to the local university hospital.
